Jay Eackles

M.Ed., CCC-A, FAAA

Mr. Jay Eackles has been a practicing audiologist since 1984. He spent 18 years as a solo audiologist working in Otolaryngology medical practices in Martinsville, VA and Hampton, VA. Prior to his employment with Dr. Hecker and Associates (HENPA) in April, 2004 he was a pediatric audiologist with the Children's of King's Daughters Hospital (CHKD).

Jay received his bachelor's degree in speech and hearing sciences and his master's degree in Audiology from James Madison University. He holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Doctor's of Audiology. His specialty areas include fitting advanced digital hearing instruments and the diagnosis and remediation of vestibular abnormalities.

When away from the office, Jay enjoys spending time with family and friends. Favorite hobbies include regular exercise, camping, boating and fishing. He has been married to his wife Kathy since 1985, and they live in Hampton with their two dogs, Zoie and Sam.
